Pop culture has such an intense impact on the way we dress and even act....the way we carry ourselves in the world and how our peers perceive us. Hollywood icons are glorified for their undeniable charm and their ability to captivate their audience...it's like they have superpowers to dictate the look and trends we see on the streets. They really do rock the free world:) Perhaps some of the greatest influences come from style icons such as Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, and even Rihanna...and to push boundaries with personal style is how we imprint our own creative vision upon the individuals we come across on a daily basis. These images were based off of those fabulous stars, but with the Ashley J twist of course! For these in particular, the latest Rihanna video served as somewhat of a filter guide, but it was the brilliant collaboration between the vision and concepts of
http://blogs.lexpress.fr/le-boulevardier/ - a French fashion blog, which is the playground for 2 friends, Vu Quan Nguyen (VQ) and Laurent François (Lilzeon). VQ owns an "unconcept" store in Lyon called Le Dixième, and Lilzeon is a freelance photographer (ViewsCo). They frequently lead lookbooks for brands or concepts they like. Le Boulevardier's baseline is "on the track of style, in the rumour and in the street".
It was such an honor to be able to create such a dynamic collection of work despite living in two different parts of the world. Fashion is something that is so personal yet global, and being able to fuse multiple regions together under one vision is extraordinary:)
